What to Expect
Here are some helpful tips to make your visit at Oak Studio as enjoyable as possible:
Drink water before, during, and after your class. Staying hydrated is essential to staying healthy! Feel free to fill up your water bottle at our hydration station. Forgot yours at home? No problem! You can purchase bottled water for $2.
Bring a water bottle, hand towel, and yoga mat (or borrow one of ours!). Our classes use a yoga mat, but if you do not have one or forgot yours, feel free to borrow one of ours for free. You can leave your personal belongings in the cubbies in the lobby.
Wear shoes only to Oak Fit classes. Most of our classes are practiced barefoot, except Oak Fit. If you are attending an Oak Fit class, remember to wear your shoes!
Wear comfortable clothing for exercise. Some acceptable options may be leggings or shorts, tank tops or short sleeve shirts—anything you can move in without discomfort! For yoga classes, you may want to avoid loose-fitting tops, which tend to fall in certain poses. Psst...be sure to check out Oak Studio’s apparel to wear in the studio or out and about!
Arrive a few minutes early. This will help ensure you won’t be rushed to set up your space. Oak Studio conveniently pre-marks spots so you can set up your space without worrying about others around you. Grab your equipment or props, say hi to your instructor, and relax until class starts. Arriving late? We totally get it! Life happens, and you are always welcome. Just be sure to enter as quietly as you can, find a spot, unravel your mat, take a few deep breaths, and enjoy.
Check in at the front desk before heading into the workout space.
Before class, be sure to share with your instructor any injuries that may affect your fitness routine.
Silence your cell phone and electronic devices during class. If you need to keep your phone handy in case of an emergency or an important call, please leave your phone with the front desk and they will alert you if it rings!
Enjoy adjustments. Oak instructors may offer “hands-on” adjustments to help you find freedom in your poses and deepen your practice. If you are uncomfortable or have any limitations or injuries, let your instructor know before class.
Listen to verbal cues to maximize your results. Get the most out of class! Try to minimize talking so you don’t miss any helpful cues.
After class, be sure to wipe down your equipment and mat with gym wipes provided.
